Bid Increments on Municibid

Bid increments determine the minimum amount by which a new bid must exceed the current high bid.

How Bid Increments Work

Bid increments work on Municibid automatically based on the current bid amount. This means that as the bid gets higher, the minimum amount required to place the next bid increases. This ensures fair and competitive bidding throughout the auction.

These increments are applied automatically by our system -- you don't need to calculate them yourself.

Reserve Price Notes

If an item has a reserve price, your bid will automatically go to the lesser of the following:
- Your proxy (maximum) bid
- The reserve price
This ensures you're not bidding more than necessary to meet the seller's minimum acceptable price.
