The Questions & Answers section on each Municibid listing is designed to help bidders get additional information directly from the selling agency before placing a bid. To ensure this feature remains helpful and productive for both bidders and sellers, please review the following guidelines before submitting a question.

What the Q&A Section is for:

The Q&A section is intended for bidders to ask specific, relevant questions about the item for sale. Examples include:

  • Item condition or history: "Does the vehicle run properly?" or "Has the equipment been maintained regularly?"

  • Pickup and payment arrangements: "Can I schedule pickup on a weekend?" or "What forms of payment are accepted?"

  • Additional item details not listed: "Do you have more photos of the undercarriage?"or "What size is the truck bed?"

When you submit a question, the selling agency is notified via email and receives an alert within their Municibid account. Agencies typically respond within 1 business day, although response times may vary depending on the agency.

What's Not Allowed in the Q&A Section:

To maintain clarity and fairness across all listings, the following are not permitted in the Q&A section:

  • Complaints, sarcasm, or off-topic remarks: "What's the point if you won't tell us the reserve?"

  • Attempts to negotiate outside of the auction process: "Will you take $5,000 today?"

  • Comments or opinions: "You're wasting people's time," or "Nice truck!"

These types of posts will be removed. Repeated misuse of the Q&A feature may result in restriction from using Municibid.

Pro Tips:

  • Be specific and polite in your question.

  • Check the listing details first to see if you question has already been answered.

  • Allow up to 2 business days for a response before following up.
