The Seller's Terms and Conditions section on your listing page is where you can add any additional terms, requirements, or policies specific to your selling agency. This section is visible to bidders on your auction and helps set clear expectations for the sale, payment, and pickup process.
This is your opportunity to outline important details that go beyond the standard Municibid terms and conditions.
Why is it important?
Having clear and thorough terms and conditions can:
Reduce misunderstandings with bidders
Ensure bidders are aware of any unique requirements
Protect your selling agency by making your policies clear and visible
Bidders must review this section before placing a bid, so including specific instructions can help make the entire transaction run smoothly.
What should I include?
Here are some examples of what you might want to include in your Seller's Terms and Conditions section:
1. Pickup Requirements
Pickup dates and hours of operation
Appointment requirements
Location details (if different from the listing address)
Documents required at pickup (e.g., ID, proof of payment, release forms)
Item removal deadlines
2. Special Conditions
If equipment must be removed by a professional
If buyers need specific permits or insurance for removal
Any "as-is" condition statements beyond the default Municibid terms
3. Agency-Specific Policies
Refund or return policy (if any)
Storage fees (if any)
Additional disclaimers about item condition or warranties
Policies for forfeiture if the bidder fails to pay or pick up
Tips for writing your terms and conditions
Be clear and concise: Avoid overly technical language
Be specific: Include exact deadlines and instructions
Avoid conflicting information: Ensure your terms do not contradict Municibid's general terms and conditions
Keep it professional: This section is visible to all bidders
Where do I add my Seller's Terms and Conditions?
You will find this field on the Create a Listing page of your Municibid seller account. Scroll down to the Seller's Terms and Conditions section and enter your text there. Once you have saved your terms, they will auto-populate into all of your listings!
Example:
Pickup: All items must be picked up by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 9AM-3PM. Please bring a valid photo ID and paid invoice receipt.
Special Conditions: Buyer is responsible for all loading and transportation. No equipment or staff will be provided. Item must be removed within 10 days of the close of the auction. Items not removed within 10 days will incur a $20/day storage fee.
