Can we offer an item to the highest bidder if it doesn’t meet reserve?

Written by Team Municibid

Yes! If your auction ends and the reserve price is not met, you have the option to send an offer directly to the highest bidder.

How to send an offer
1. Log in to your Municibid Account
2. Navigate to Unsuccessful Listings
3. Locate the item you'd like to offer
4. Click "Offer to the Highest Bidder"

Once you click this button, our team will take care of the reset and send the offer to the highest bidder on your behalf.

What happens next?
• The highest bidder will have 2 days to respond to the offer
• We'll keep you updated on the bidder's response
• The bidder can accept the offer, decline the offer, and in some cases, submit a counter-offer for your review.

If the bidder accepts we will update the listing to declare them the winning bidder. The sale will proceed under the same terms outlined in your original listing.

Bidders are not required to accept offers if the reserve was not met. If the offer is declined or expires without a response, you can choose to relist the item or keep it.
