Auctions might need cancellations due to reasons such as incorrect data or errors in listing schedules. Understanding these processes ensures transparency and effective management of active listings.

Options for Managing Active Listings

Steps to Cancel and Move Listings Back to Drafts

If you need to cancel an auction due to any errors or discrepancies, follow these steps:

  1. Request the Listing Cancellation: Contact support to request the cancellation of the auction listing and specify:

    • Listing IDs that need to be canceled.

    • The issue causing the cancellation (e.g., incorrect data, premature closure).

    • Your preferred action (e.g., relist, update, or return to drafts).

  2. Move Listing to Drafts: Once the request is approved, the system will void the auction listing and move it to your drafts folder. From there, the listing will be available for further edits and relisting at your convenience.

  3. Manage Notifications and Refunds:

    • Winning bidders will receive notifications that their bids have been rejected.

    • Any buyer fees charged to the winning bidders will be refunded.

    • The canceled listing will be marked as voided in the system.

Edit a Listing Moved to Drafts

For listings that have been moved to Drafts, you can access and make necessary changes before relisting or deleting the item. This option ensures that you retain full control over modifications without having the listing remain publicly active.

Here are some tips for a successful relist:

  • Review Information Thoroughly: Double-check all listing details to ensure accuracy.

  • Set Appropriate Closing Dates: Confirm the auction's timeline to avoid premature closure.

  • Preview the Listing: Utilize platform tools to see how the listing appears to bidders before publishing.

Please contact us with the listing number and the reason for removal and we'll be happy to assist.

When contacting support, make sure to provide:

  • The listing number for precise identification

  • The reason for the requested action (e.g., deletion or cancellation)

After submitting your request, the support team will notify you of the action taken and confirm once the listing has been updated or removed.

Common Scenarios Requiring Auction Cancellation

Typical situations that may necessitate an auction cancellation include:

  • Posting incorrect or incomplete information on the listing.

  • Setting incorrect or misleading closing dates.

  • Prematurely ending the auction.

In each of these cases, providing accurate details will expedite the cancellation and relisting process.
