Why is my Municibid account restricted?
There could be a few reasons your Municibid account is restricted. Below are the common reasons for account restrictions and steps for resolution:
Reasons for Account Restrictions
Winning an Item but Not Paying or Picking It Up:
If you have won an item but failed to arrange pick-up or make payment, the seller may notify Municibid. In such cases, Municibid will restrict your account and send you a notice to contact the seller and make the necessary arrangements.
Unpaid Buyer's Fees:
When your buyer's fee is not paid at the close of an auction, you will not be able to place further bids until the fee is settled.
If payment is not made within 2-3 business days of the initial notification to update your credit card, your account will be restricted until payment is resolved.
Creating a New Account After Being Banned:
If you have been previously banned from bidding and create a new Municibid account, your new account will also be restricted. Municibid enforces a zero-tolerance policy regarding defaulted payments, and permanent bans are generally not reversible.
Steps to Resolve Account Restrictions
Identify and Address the Root Cause:
Check for any outstanding payments or unpaid fees and settle them promptly.
Update Payment Information:
Ensure your account has up-to-date payment details, including a valid credit card, to prevent processing issues.
Log Out and Log Back Into Your Account:
After resolving payment issues, log out and log back into your account to refresh the account status.
